LondonSEO is a quarterly networking meet-up for internet marketing professionals of all sorts (not just SEOs!) to have fun, drink far too much and make new friends in the industry. The meet-ups started in 2005 (yes that long ago) and are still going strong.

I’m happy to say that we’ve now got a mailing list system up and running, to help people keep informed about future LondonSEO events. To make sure that you know about the upcoming gatherings, please click on the “Mailing List” link on the left navigation bar. This isn’t a newsgroup so you’ll get 1 or 2 emails a month from us max.
A big thank you to all who attended last night’s LondonSEO gathering. From what I could see, everyone enjoyed themselves and met new faces in the industry to share conversation over a pint with.
I would also like to thank Propel Recruitment once again, who kept the beers flowing through the night and gracefully lost matches on the pool table.
We hope to see you all soon and I’m sure that there’s another event being planned as we speak.

I’m pleased to announce the next LondonSEO beer and banter night, scheduled for Wednesday 20th September 2006 starting at 7:00pm (although feel free to turn up sooner). If you work in London, or just parsing through, you’re more then welcome to join us and other Search Marketers. There are no sessions or organised discussion topics – you can “network” if you want, or just turn up, make new friends, meet old ones and drink lots of beer.
I’ve organised a new venue for this month’s event, which I used to grace with my presence 2-3 times a week when I was working in the area. Located in W1 London, “The Winchester Club” offers well-priced reliable booze (£2.80 a pint I think), great bar staff and a pool table for when you get really drunk and start betting people. You also don’t get annoying idiots in there (apart from me) as it’s members only usually. It’s not a cocktail bar or “trendy” club as it appears on the website, they’ve just made it look that way on the site as it’s turning into one next month. Just a friendly, well-ventilated (for non-smokers) comfortable drinking hole.
Rather not pay for your beer? Well the first few pints are on our beautiful and intelligent (have I sucked-up enough?) sponsors at Propel Recruitment. They’ve put their card behind the bar for enough beers to get the party started and a nice buffet to keep your hunger at bay.
On a serious note, if you’re looking for a change in career or need to hire a new SEM – Propel can really help. I’ve used them a couple of times (hiring and getting hired) and can recommend them. They’ll be mingling at the event, although there’s no sales pitch or timeshare presentations to stay clear of. 😉
The venue is in close proximity to Great Portland Street Station (Circle, H&C, Metropolitan) and Warren Street Station (Victoria, Northern). Oxford Circus and Regents Park stations are an easy 10 minute (max) walk away.

Update: Please note that the club has an intercom system on the door. You can access the bar by pressing the intercom button on your left and saying that you’re here for the LondonSEO event.
