It’s That Time Again…

I’m pleased to announce the next LondonSEO beer and banter night, scheduled for Wednesday 20th September 2006 starting at 7:00pm (although feel free to turn up sooner). If you work in London, or just parsing through, you’re more then welcome to join us and other Search Marketers. There are no sessions or organised discussion topics – you can “network” if you want, or just turn up, make new friends, meet old ones and drink lots of beer.

I’ve organised a new venue for this month’s event, which I used to grace with my presence 2-3 times a week when I was working in the area. Located in W1 London, “The Winchester Club” offers well-priced reliable booze (£2.80 a pint I think), great bar staff and a pool table for when you get really drunk and start betting people. You also don’t get annoying idiots in there (apart from me) as it’s members only usually. It’s not a cocktail bar or “trendy” club as it appears on the website, they’ve just made it look that way on the site as it’s turning into one next month. Just a friendly, well-ventilated (for non-smokers) comfortable drinking hole.

Rather not pay for your beer? Well the first few pints are on our beautiful and intelligent (have I sucked-up enough?) sponsors at Propel Recruitment. They’ve put their card behind the bar for enough beers to get the party started and a nice buffet to keep your hunger at bay.

On a serious note, if you’re looking for a change in career or need to hire a new SEM – Propel can really help. I’ve used them a couple of times (hiring and getting hired) and can recommend them. They’ll be mingling at the event, although there’s no sales pitch or timeshare presentations to stay clear of. 😉

The venue is in close proximity to Great Portland Street Station (Circle, H&C, Metropolitan) and Warren Street Station (Victoria, Northern). Oxford Circus and Regents Park stations are an easy 10 minute (max) walk away.

Update: Please note that the club has an intercom system on the door. You can access the bar by pressing the intercom button on your left and saying that you’re here for the LondonSEO event.
