LondonSEO Returns with a little help from Further

2010 April 20
by Uncle Ekky

The sun has returned (with a smattering of volcanic debris), so it’s high time we got our party organising in gear. This time it coincides with SMX Advanced London 2010.

The details are as follows:

Date/Time: Tuesday 18th May 2010, 18:00 onwards
Venue: Shakespeare’s Head
Address: Africa House, 64-78 Kingsway, London, W1F 7HZ
Nearest Tube Station: Holborn (Central & Picadilly Line)
[Google Map] [Bing Map]

We have an area reserved, so just head towards the back of the pub and look out for us, I doubt we’ll be too difficult to spot. :)

The pub is where many a thesp (and we all know there are enough drama queens in the industry!) and Charles Dickens have supped their ale, plus it’s around the corner from the New Connaught Rooms – so we expect to see you there!

To make the merriment even more merry, our friends at Further.co.uk have kindly offered to put their card behind the bar for a few beers. The Further.co.uk guys will be giving out drink wristbands, so go over and say thanks for the beer!

New – UK Open SEO Meeting

2010 January 23
by Rob Kerry

Ian TurnerIt’s me again – and I’ve got another event for you! As well as February’s post-conference beers, I’m also pleased to announce a new meet-up organised by the legend that is, Ian Turner.

Ian is a LondonSEO regular and has been around since the first WebmasterWorld meet-ups. He has organised a free SEO event for 26th-28th March, in a similar model to the old blackhat meet-ups. Everyone is welcome (as long as you like chatting about SEO) and you just have to pay for your own accommodation (starting from £55 per night), food and drink.

The first meet-up is in Surrey, in a very nice leisure complex. For more information, please visit the official UK Open SEO Meeting website.

SES London 2010 LondonSEO Party

2010 January 23
by Rob Kerry

The LondonSEO crew are happy to announce our traditional post-SES London party, at your favourite venue – the Camden Head pub. Located just across the road from the conference venue, the Camden Head is a proper British boozer. The event will kick-off at 6pm on Thursday 18th February, so get it in your diaries!

SEO Conference

This year’s sponsor is Search Engine Strategies themselves, who have kindly offered to stick a big wad of cash behind the bar for your drinking pleasure! There’s still time to register for this year’s conference if you haven’t already.

For beers – simply give one of the LondonSEO organisers your business card and we’ll give you a wristband for free pints. If you’re new to LondonSEO, people at the event will be happy to point us out. The upstairs of the pub has been booked out and we can overspill into the downstairs bar if necessary. Anyone interested in Search Marketing or internet marketing in general is more than welcome to attend – no invitation necessary.

We look forward to seeing you all there :)

The Moz Comes To London; Throws Party

2009 October 18
by Coppi

It’s been a while, right LondonSEO drinkers? I don’t think I remember the last LondonSEO party we put on, and I fear it was as long ago as May. However, I bring to you today good news: we’ve managed to stop playing pool and table tennis for long enough to put together a LondonSEO drinkathon for this coming Tuesday evening, October 20. Taking place at the Crown and Sceptre pub, which I can’t pronounce, kick-off is at 6:00pm.

Whilst we rarely need an excuse to get together and consume alcohol, the event is taking place directly following the SEOmoz / Distilled PRO training seminar. Rand from SEOmoz and Will from Distilled have agreed to fund this round of drinking, so if you’re anywhere near the greater London area on Tuesday, you have little excuse not to show up.

The pub is at 26-27 Foley Street, on the corner of Great Titchfield Street. It is just 0.5mi walk from the seminar venue. The closest tube stations are Goodge Street (Northern Line), Great Portland Street (Circle, Metropolitan, Hammersmith and Shitty Lines) and Oxford Circus (Bakerloo, Central, Victoria Lines). So basically, you can get on any train you like.

Hope to see a good number of you on Tuesday.

[EDIT: Rob, good to see my new stupid nickname is my username on here, thanks :) - Flora]
